Portait Residence
The Pori Society of Artists offers artists a possibility to work and live in Pori. The Portait Residency is annually open to one or two visual artists mainly from Nordic and Baltic countries. During the Portait Residency artists can work and orientate to local atmosphere and the unique delta area of the Kokemäenjoki River. When choosing the artists the Portait Residency emphasises the working plan with social networking and communication with local actors in different brances of life. It is also possible to exhibit in the Alaporras exhibition space of the Portait´S Gallery during the time of the residency. The Gallery is maintained by the Pori Society of Artists.
The Portait Residence is situated in the heart of Pori. The rest of the year the space is used as artists´ ateliers. The atelier consists of one big space, which is possible to divide to two parts. The accommodation for the artist is yearly separately rented by Portait Residency and it is sufficiently furnished.
